Liqueur with honey and Krokos Kozanis (saffron)



    1 litre of vodka
    1/2 cup of honey
    10 leaves broad-leaved basil
    2 lemon balm
    2 mint sprigs
    1 fresh rosemary sprig
    5 fresh sage leaves
    1 cinnamon stick
    5 cloves
    5 crushed juniper berries
    1/2gr Krokos Kozanis (saffron)
    Zest of 2 lemons
    3 cups sugar


Add the herbs and spices to the vodka and leave in a cool place. After at least a week, make a syrup by boiling the sugar with 4 cups water for 10 minutes. Allow to cool and mix in the honey. Pour the vodka through a strainer and mix it with the syrup. Place the liqueur in a clean bottle. Serve after a week.
